UConn’s veteran safety brings savvy, size, and special-teams grit
Dwaun Black is a senior safety for Connecticut listed at 5-foot-11 and 178 pounds, giving the Huskies an experienced back-end defender with veteran poise and a compact, physical frame. His distinguishing trait is versatility and toughness: historical UConn coverage describes him as a player who carved out a niche through blocking ability and special-teams impact, including blocked punts in his senior season. That kind of high-effort, low-drama value makes him a useful fit for a team needing dependable depth, smart run support, and hidden-yardage playmaking.
