Tennessee State’s Second-Half Scoring Spark with Elite Guard Intensity
In the 2025-26 season, guard Tequila Martin averaged 11.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game for Tennessee State Lady Tigers, but her true differentiator is a fierce second-half surge that consistently shifts momentum—highlighted in a standout performance against UT Martin where she led a comeback win. Beyond stats, Martin plays with relentless intensity, rarely fouling out, and brings a calm, competitive personality that elevates team morale during tight games. While Tennessee State finished 5-24 overall, Martin remains a top OVC guard in scoring and defensive presence. She’s a high-fit prospect for teams needing a guard who thrives under pressure, shows late-game resilience, and doesn’t rely solely on early-game stats to make an impact.
