Elijah Beard brings versatility and secondary IQ to LIU’s defense
Elijah Beard is a defense-first DB whose best trait is versatility: at West Chester in the 2022 season, he appeared in all 11 games, made five starts, and was used as a fifth defensive back who could still step up and help versus the run. That kind of hybrid role usually means a coach trusts your instincts, tackling, and communication — the unglamorous stuff that wins reps. If LIU wants a steady, assignment-sound defender who can play multiple spots in the back end and not flinch in traffic, Beard is the kind of low-drama, high-utility piece that makes a room better.
