Gavin Locklear brings walk-on grit and reliable two-way versatility to NC State
Locklear’s profile is defined by resilience and versatility: he earned his way from walk-on to starter, produced as a receiver, and even contributed on defense with tackles and interceptions during his NC State career. In 2025, his coaching value is less about raw stats and more about the culture he brings—by reports, he has built trust through intensity, leadership, and a refusal-to-quit mentality that teammates and staff clearly respond to. That makes him a fit for a team that wants toughness, adaptability, and a player who elevates the room as much as the box score.
