Blake Kimball brings innings-eating experience and strikeout ability to Southern Illinois
In the 2025 season, Kimball logged 73.0 innings over 18 appearances and 12 starts, going 6-5 with a 6.66 ERA and 45 strikeouts, while also leading Southern Indiana in wins and ranking third on the team in Ks.[3] His value is durability and starter experience: he worked deep enough to throw a season-high eight innings in one outing and has shown he can handle both rotation and relief roles.[3] The downside is command and run prevention, so he fits best for a staff that wants a sturdy right-hander with upside rather than an immediate ace.[3]
