Savannah State's 2010 Freshman Flash with Untapped Potential
Sheldon Barnes burst onto the scene as a Savannah State freshman RB in 2010, leading the Tigers with 119 carries for 583 yards (4.7 YPC) and 4 TDs, peaking at 120 yards and a score in a win over South Carolina State—proving his explosive vision and burst against HBCU competition. A Region 3-AAAAA honoree from Bradwell Institute (200 carries, 1,252 yards, 15 TDs senior year), his workhorse intensity shines, but with no recent stats post-2010 and a 2014 draft profile, he's a high-upside developmental gem for teams seeking gritty, undersized backs (born 1992) who thrive in zone schemes.
