Ben Mathiasmeier is a seasoned Columbia DB with playmaking chops and Ivy-tested instincts
Ben Mathiasmeier is a veteran Columbia defensive back whose value goes well beyond the box score: he’s a proven ballhawk, with seven career interceptions, 14 passes defended, and 147 tackles across 40 games, and he earned Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors after a pair of interceptions in 2021. The Columbia staff has used him as a steady strong safety and special-teams contributor, which suggests trust, toughness, and a high football IQ. For a team looking for a disciplined, experienced DB who can read quarterbacks and make timely plays, he’s the kind of glue guy you want on the field.
