Kai Decker’s two-way upside is real — and the arm is already flashing
Kai Decker is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound Mercer two-way option who brings legit left-handed pop in the field and a live right arm on the mound. In 2026, Mercer’s preseason preview praised his ability to start or work in high-leverage relief, and his summer in the Coastal Plain League hinted at real strikeout stuff with a 2.08 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 30.1 innings. He also showed early-season mound bite for Mercer, including a six-strikeout outing against Alcorn State. Translation: this is a physical, competitive fit for a staff or lineup that values upside and versatility.
