David Koppang brings veteran toughness and special-teams reliability to Montana’s back end
In the 2023 season, David Koppang was a redshirt senior safety for Montana at 6-0, 215, and his value showed up more in dependable, physical glue-play than in flashy stat lines: he played in 12 games, logged 4 tackles, and remained a standout on special teams with snaps at reserve safety. His differentiator is experience, local roots, and a reputation as a hard-nosed, team-first contributor who can stabilize a roster and raise the floor of the defense. If a team wants a steady, high-intensity veteran who embraces dirty-work roles, he fits the bill.
