Jack Bakus is Ball State’s late-inning thunderbolt at first base
In the 2026 season, Jack Bakus gave Ball State a legit left-handed power bat, slashing .333/.450/.485 with 2 homers, 17 RBI, and 13 runs in 40 games, plus two headline-grabbing clutch blasts: a pinch-hit grand slam at Western Michigan and a walk-off two-run homer vs. UMass. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound senior brings JUCO All-America production, patience, and big-moment swagger; he looks like a fit for teams needing middle-of-the-order pop, strike-zone control, and a fearless pinch-hit weapon.
