Ty Burns brings pop and toughness behind the plate for MVSU
Ty Burns, a junior catcher for Mississippi Valley State in the 2026 season, looks like a gritty, high-upside depth piece with real offensive juice: he launched a grand slam in April 2026 and has also shown plate discipline with walks, a hit-by-pitch, and a multi-hit impact game earlier in the year. At 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, he gives the Delta Devils a big target behind the dish and a physical presence that reads as “run stopper” from prior coverage. The fit is appealing if a team wants a catcher with power upside, toughness, and energy.
