Versatile DB Making Impact on Special Teams
The 5-10, 197-lb junior defensive back from Philadelphia has established himself as a reliable contributor for Missouri, particularly excelling on special teams where he recorded a crucial punt block leading to a touchdown in the 2023 season opener against South Dakota[1]. Hayes demonstrates the intensity and football intelligence valued in defensive backs, with a track record of high-impact plays despite limited defensive snaps. His combination of special teams prowess, academic credentials (Scholar-Athlete recognition)[3], and competitive mentality makes him an intriguing prospect for programs seeking depth at DB with proven ability to affect games beyond traditional coverage statistics.
