Nebraska’s local lefty with swing-and-miss upside and a roller-coaster 2026
Nowaczyk, a left-handed pitcher from Elkhorn North, gave Nebraska a useful 2026 mix of depth and upside: in the 2026 season he posted a 3-0 record with a 3.80 ERA over 17 appearances, and early in the year showed real punchout ability with two shutout innings and four strikeouts against No. 16 Florida State. He’s the kind of arm coaches trust in leverage because he can miss bats, handle multiple innings, and bounce between relief and spot-start duty, though his season also included some rough outings that suggest command consistency is still the separator.
