Monty Boykins brings veteran shot-making and wing depth to Pitt
Monty Boykins was a 6-foot-5 guard/wing transfer who gave Pitt a seasoned perimeter option in the 2017-18 season, and the key selling point was his three-point shooting and length rather than high-usage scoring. He arrived with 82 career Division I games, 538 points, 145 rebounds, and 89 made threes, plus a reputation as a good shooter with feel and the ability to make plays in gaps. The tradeoff: injuries had already slowed him at Lafayette and again in his senior year, so he was more about reliable, mature floor-spacing than star-level availability or explosion.
