Sophia Clark is emerging as UCSB’s workhorse in the circle
In the 2026 season, Sophia Clark gave UC Santa Barbara a steady left-right? Actually right-handed? No—what matters is the results: 11-8 with a 3.37 ERA over 120.1 innings, plus 52 strikeouts and nine complete games, and she was named Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year[7][9]. She also delivered a complete-game shutout against Hawai‘i and a four-hit, seven-inning win over UC San Diego, showing she can handle pressure and carry a staff[4][11]. Her calling card is durability and poise; the standout fit is a team that wants an innings-eating starter who competes every pitch and keeps the game under control[4][6][9].
