Ryan Welby brings linebacker toughness to Sacred Heart’s defense
Welby is a Sacred Heart linebacker worth watching for his defensive edge and fit in a physical, assignment-sound role, but there isn’t enough public stat detail in the available source to fairly judge his 2026 production yet. The appeal here is more profile than box score: a linebacker at a program that leans on discipline, contact, and straight-ahead effort usually signals a player who can help on special teams and in downhill run support. If a team wants a hard-nosed, no-frills defender who can earn trust fast, that’s the kind of profile that plays.
