Marcus Van Alstine brings veteran depth and strike-throwing polish to ODU’s bullpen
In the 2025 season at VMI, Marcus Van Alstine logged 56 innings across 22 appearances and three starts, posting 53 strikeouts while adding three saves; he also ranked sixth all-time at VMI with 10 career saves, which tells you he’s not just an arm, he’s been trusted in leverage. Now at Old Dominion for 2026, the 6-foot, right-handed graduate transfer gives the Monarchs a seasoned bullpen piece with proven swing-and-miss ability, starter’s stamina, and the kind of competitive résumé coaches love when the game tightens up.
