From Presbyterian Assistant to Virginia's Offensive Line Architect
Joey Orck is no longer a player—he's now the offensive line coach at the University of Virginia, promoted to the position-coach role for the 2026 season after four years as an analyst on Tony Elliott's staff. His impact is undeniable: in 2025, the Cavaliers' O-line finished 19th nationally in sacks allowed (just 18 in 12 games, down from 47 in 2024) and paved the way for UVA's first 2,500-yard rushing season since 2004. Orck's steady hand helped J'Mari Taylor become the first Cavalier to rush for 1,000 yards since 2018. He's a developer of talent with a proven track record of elevating unit performance.
