Ben Hynds brings veteran punter upside with long-term ACU pedigree
Ben Hynds is a former Abilene Christian punter who gives the Wildcats a built-in advantage: experience, special-teams feel, and a proven college pipeline back to his 2010-14 playing days. In the 2014 season, he appeared as ACU’s punter on ESPN’s stat page and is listed on ACU’s historical roster as a senior punter, which signals a mature, game-ready profile rather than a raw leg-only prospect. His differentiator is trust: he’s the kind of specialist whose value shows up in field position, consistency, and poise under pressure.
