Maia Townsend brings veteran speed, contact, and steady spark to NC State’s outfield
In the 2026 season, Maia Townsend has been a productive top-of-the-order threat for NC State, hitting .384 with 33 hits, 25 runs, 8 steals, and a .442 on-base percentage through 27 games. The senior outfielder’s game is built on speed, table-setting, and pressure on defenses, with consistent run-scoring value and a knack for creating chaos on the bases. Her LSU background and former national recruiting buzz add credibility, and her profile fits a team that wants an experienced, energetic centerfield-style catalyst rather than a pure power bat.
