Brian Schmidt brings steady backcourt production for Western Illinois
Schmidt is a compact, experienced **guard** who appears to have carved out a rotation role at Western Illinois by providing steady ball-handling and secondary playmaking, with RealGM listing him at **2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists** on the 2024-25 depth chart[9]. ESPN also lists him as a current Leathernecks guard, while Proballers identifies him as a **6-foot shooting guard**, suggesting a smaller, skill-based perimeter fit rather than a pure volume scorer[1][3]. For a team, he projects as a low-drama connector who can organize offense and complement higher-usage creators, though the available public data does not show standout scoring or elite efficiency[1][9].
