DII Star's Meteoric Rise from Assumption to Steelers Rookie Sensation
Carlins Platel, the 6-0 DB who exploded at Division II Assumption with 41 tackles, 3 INTs (including a electric 72-yard pick-six vs. Findlay in 2020), and 8 PBUs across 13 games, transferred to South Carolina before latching on with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a gritty, high-motor corner. His differentiator? Relentless ball skills, track speed from Everett HS, and humble work ethic shining in rookie interviews—perfect for teams needing versatile, lunch-pail DBs who thrive under pressure without big-school hype. A hidden gem with NFL starter upside.
