Freshman RHP Corden Pettey has become a reliable arm for Cal Poly
Corden Pettey, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound freshman right-hander from Whitney High, has quickly earned trust at Cal Poly by flashing swing-and-miss stuff and durability, including a seven-strikeout start in the Big West title game and multiple strong outings after injuries thinned the rotation in 2026. He profiles as a composed, team-first starter with power potential, a knack for working into games, and the kind of competitive edge that makes coaches lean on him when the stakes get loud.
