Richmond’s Sam Young brings pro-sized frame, power-arm profile, and upside
In the 2026 season, Richmond RHP Sam Young stands out as a 6-foot-2, 220-pound right-hander with a strong build and a starter’s look, which gives him real upside if the stuff keeps sharpening[1][2]. He entered Richmond as a high-achieving prep arm from Crystal Springs Uplands, where he led his league with 79 strikeouts and posted a 0.74 ERA in 2023, so the pitchability and competitiveness are clearly there[4]. For a team, the draw is his size, strikeout pedigree, and development runway; the question is whether his current command and game consistency match the physical tools.
