Elite Perimeter Defender with Clutch Gene from Iowa
Wessels was a standout guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes (2006-07), averaging 16 points, 2.8 steals, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 46% from the field as a senior on a 25-1 team. His calling card is elite perimeter defense and ball-hawking ability—he recorded 10 steals in a single playoff game at Augustana (2007-08). A reliable free-throw shooter (.857 career), Wessels demonstrates composure in high-pressure moments and the versatility to impact winning. Best fit: Teams seeking a defensive-minded guard who can contribute immediately on the perimeter.
