veteran Appalachian State LB with a run-stop mentality and special-teams grit
Cougar Norris is a sturdy, instinctive linebacker known for his run-stopping profile and willingness to do the dirty work, the kind of glue guy coaches love because he shows up in the box and on special teams. Appalachian State lists him as a linebacker, and older program notes describe him as a player who could handle kickoff duty while earning academic recognition, which hints at toughness, discipline, and coach trust. The catch: the available public info is dated, so his current 2026 form and role are not clearly documented in the sources reviewed.
