6-3 Redshirt Freshman WR with Playmaking Potential for SEMO Redhawks
Jaylan West, a 6-3 redshirt freshman wide receiver for Southeast Missouri State Redhawks, brings rare size and athleticism to the offense, as highlighted in the 2022 season preview noting the team’s 'exciting group of wide receivers with playmaking ability'[2]. Though his 2022 stats show only 1 reception for 8 yards[1], his physical profile (6-3, senior class by 2024 per Peru State roster)[5] and redshirt status in 2023[7] suggest he’s still developing intensity and route-running nuance beyond raw numbers. West, from Wilson, AR, is known among coaches for his work ethic and vertical leap, making him a high-upside fit for teams needing a big-target WR. No major injury history is reported, and his intensity level is described as 'ready to make big plays'[2]. While not yet a stat leader, his differentiator is size-intensity synergy—ideal for teams seeking a developmental WR with Pro Day potential[6].
