Davion Ames brings size and experience to Virginia Tech’s safety room
Davion Ames is a 6-2, 193-205-pound defensive back for Virginia Tech with a versatile safety/STAR background and some real college experience, including a 2024 season at Central Connecticut where he posted 32 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 13 games played. Recent Virginia Tech coverage lists him back in the safeties mix for 2026, which matters because his frame, versatility, and older-player steadiness give him a shot to be a useful rotation piece or matchup chess piece. If your team wants a long, physical, multi-role DB with proven snap value, Ames is worth a look.
