Chandler McGruder brings compact, grind-it-out Penn backfield value
McGruder’s Penn profile screams toughness over flash: at 5-foot-8 and about 195–200 pounds, he’s a low-center-of-gravity runner who flashed efficient production in 2022, averaging 4.5 yards per carry on 11 rushes with a 20-yard effort against Georgetown and a short-yardage touchdown run in a win over Columbia. He was a four-year letter winner and two-time captain at IMG Academy, plus a scholar-athlete, which fits the image of a reliable, high-discipline teammate. He looks like a fit for a team that wants physical, assignment-sound depth rather than a home-run bat.
