Cooper Golden gives McNeese a seasoned, big-game lefty with real innings-eating value
In the 2026 season, Cooper Golden has been McNeese’s dependable left-handed starter, including an 8.0-inning win over Southeastern Louisiana and a 7.2-inning shutout outing against Northwestern State, showing the kind of poise coaches love in a weekend arm[4][7]. He’s a 6-foot-4, 220-pound veteran who brings experience, strikeout ability, and a track record of handling pressure, though his earlier college numbers show some run prevention volatility, so he looks more like a sturdy competitive fit than a pure dominance ace[1][5].
