A.J. Ackerman anchors Duquesne’s veteran defensive front
A.J. Ackerman is a seasoned 6-foot-5, 300-pound graduate-student defensive lineman for Duquesne who entered 2025 as a team captain and a first-team all-NEC selection, signaling real trust from the staff and league respect. In the 2024 season, he logged 19 tackles and 0.5 sacks, and broader Duquesne reporting has him at 74 career tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and six sacks with 29 straight starts. Why care? He brings size, continuity, and a steady, physical presence up front—exactly the kind of tone-setter that makes a defense sturdier and a roster happier.
