Cory Helms brings SEC-tested versatility and a starter’s résumé to the Gamecocks
Helms was a dependable interior lineman for South Carolina, listed at 6-4, 309 and credited with starting 29 games at guard and 17 at center, which points to real positional flexibility and trust in high-pressure SEC snaps. He earned a reputation as a durable, experienced piece rather than a flashy stat guy, and his appeal is the kind coaches love: assignment soundness, size, and the ability to stabilize the middle of the line. If you need a proven, multi-position interior OL with battle-tested experience, he fits.
