Diego Cruz is Miami (OH)’s freshman spark plug in the infield
In the 2026 season, Diego Cruz has been a high-impact freshman for Miami (OH), hitting .385 with a .467 on-base percentage, .615 slugging percentage, 7 home runs, 47 RBI, and 23 steals in 52 games[1][3][6]. He brings a fun combo of contact, gap power, and speed, and the reporting around him highlights a hard-charging, full-speed style that’s translated to immediate production and steady defense at second base[4][7]. For a team looking for an up-the-middle infielder who can hit, run, and keep the pressure on, he’s absolutely worth caring about[1][4].
