Wisconsin’s old-school Badger with a linebacker’s edge
Jake Whalen is listed by Wisconsin as a former fullback who also saw defensive action, and that versatility is the big draw: he brings a rugged, physical profile, depth-value flexibility, and a blue-collar Badger vibe that coaches tend to love[1][4]. Publicly available current 2026 stat and ranking data for Whalen is limited, so the real story is less about box-score pop and more about his size, toughness, and willingness to do the dirty work in multiple roles[1][3]. If you want a dependable, high-effort, scheme-flexible piece rather than a headline-chasing star, he fits that mold[1][4].
