Louisiana’s Freshman Punter With a Clean Slate
Melancon arrives at Louisiana as a **freshman punter** with a listed size of 5-10, 209 pounds, and no published college statistics yet, so his value is still about projection rather than production.[1] What makes him worth tracking is the upside that comes with a young specialist spot: if he shows reliable hang time, directional control, and poise on high-leverage snaps, he could fit a team that wants field-position discipline and steady execution more than flashy volume.[1]
