Jackson Richard brings athletic, left-handed upside to UMass outfield
Jackson Richard is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound sophomore outfielder for Massachusetts in the 2026 season, and his profile is built on athleticism, a left-handed bat, and multi-sport competitiveness from Boston College High, where he captained the team and was a Catholic Conference All-Star[1][3]. Recruiting evaluations praised his projectable, athletic hit tool and speed, with exit velocities reported up to 98 mph and a 6.84-second 60-yard dash, suggesting real upside if the strength plays consistently in games[2][15]. He looks like a fit for a program that values energy, versatility, and ceiling over polished certainty—an intriguing piece if UMass wants athletic pop and a grinder with pedigree[1][2].
