VMI S Lucas Combs: A depth-piece defensive back with limited public production data
Publicly available information on VMI safety Lucas Combs is limited, so there is no strong statistical case to project him as a headline defender yet. What matters is that a safety at VMI has to be reliable in space, physical near the run, and assignment-sound, and Combs’ profile currently reads more like an evaluation player than a proven stat leader. If you need a low-drama fit who could contribute on special teams and develop into a rotational back end piece, he is worth a closer look; if you want an immediate impact playmaker, the public data does not show that yet.
