Penn Quakers TE with Limited Ivy Action, Raw Size Potential
Griffith Gates, a 6-3, 255-pound tight end from Pleasanton, CA, committed to Penn Quakers out of Foothill High (Class of 2013), showing early promise with starts in 2013 including a key win over Yale and play in nine late-season games, but saw no varsity action in 2014—likely due to injury, academics, or depth chart battles. His linebacker build offers rare blocking strength and mismatch upside for Ivy offenses, ideal for teams seeking developmental TEs with high motor and captain-like leadership; watch for breakout if he returns post-hiatus.
