Brent Cota is SJSU’s clutch-contact bat with middle-of-the-order juice
In the 2026 season, Brent Cota emerged as a productive, high-leverage outfielder for San José State, finishing with a .242 average, 3 home runs, 30 RBIs, and a strong .346 OBP across 48 games. He showed real impact in big moments — including a season-high 4-hit, 6-RBI game with a late three-run homer against UNLV and a walk-off RBI double to cap the season. A graduate transfer from Cal Poly Pomona, Cota brings left-handed contact, gap power, and a reputation for delivering when the game tightens up.
