Utah Transfer Nicholas Brown Brings Versatile Defensive Back Depth to Secondary
Nicholas Brown, a 6-foot defensive back from Cypress, Texas, recently transferred from Lamar to Utah for the 2026 season with three years of eligibility remaining.[7] Though his playing time at Lamar was limited as a redshirt freshman in 2025—appearing in just two games with nine total tackles—Brown demonstrated immediate impact by recording his first career interception in a 31-7 victory over Texas Southern.[7] Originally a two-way athlete at Cy Springs High School, Brown's versatility and high-motor play on both sides of the ball make him a valuable depth addition to Utah's revamped secondary, joining fellow transfer cornerbacks Marcus Wimberly and Elijah Reed.[7]
