Heavy freshman lefty with early utility work for Louisiana
Flanagan is a **freshman LHP** at Louisiana who brings a sturdy 6-1, 230-pound frame and a left-on-left look that can be valuable in matchup work; in the 2026 season, he has logged 12 appearances and 12.2 innings with a 4.26 ERA and 7 strikeouts, suggesting a developing arm still settling in at the college level.[1][3] What makes him interesting is the blend of size, local background, and bullpen versatility—he’s already been trusted to get outs in games, which is a good sign for a team looking for a young pitcher with growth upside rather than a finished product.[1][3][4]
