Blake Baker brings SEC-tested linebacker pedigree back to Tulane
A former Tulane linebacker and current LSU defensive coordinator, Blake Baker is a high-IQ, physically demanding defensive mind whose value shows up in leadership, structure, and player development more than box-score flash. In 2026, he remained one of college football’s most respected assistants after helping LSU’s defense improve sharply, and his Tulane ties make him a natural culture fit if the goal is toughness, accountability, and instant credibility. He’s the kind of football person who can stabilize a locker room fast—less splashy highlight reel, more “your defense just got smarter and meaner.”
