Yale’s Elles van der Maas brings shot-making pop and proven clutch scoring
Van der Maas is a 6-foot-2 guard/forward whose value at Yale starts with perimeter scoring: in 2021-22 she hit a career-high 22 points and six threes against Harvard, and the Ivy League named her Rookie of the Week after that breakout[1][3]. She showed she can swing games with efficient shot creation, while also giving Yale size and versatility on the wing[1]. For a team, the appeal is a stretch scorer with upside; the question is whether she can expand beyond scoring into more consistent all-around production as her role grows[1][2].
