Memphis FB Derron Johnson: developmental depth piece with a classic lead-blocking profile
Derron Johnson appears to be a low-usage, role-specific fullback for Memphis, with the main appeal being fit and physicality rather than box-score production; the available recruiting/profile data identifies him with Memphis but does not show meaningful recent college stats, so the read is that he projects more as a niche, assignment-heavy piece than a featured performer.[3] For a team valuing lead blocking, toughness, and special-purpose usage, that can still matter—but if you need a stat-producing skill player, he is not that kind of fit.[3]
