SIU's Record-Setting WR Turned Developmental League Standout
Darrell James, a former Southern Illinois Salukis wide receiver, etched his name in program history as the team's 2017 leading receiver with 47 catches for 773 yards and 8 TDs—tops in receptions, yards, and scores—showcasing elite hands, speed, and red-zone reliability across 11 starts. Post-college, he's thrived with the Racine Raiders in the Gridiron Developmental League, hauling in 22 receptions for 269 yards and 2 TDs over 2023-2024 (12.2 ypc career), proving durable and versatile as a 6'0", 220-lb possession/slot threat with return skills. His consistent production and physicality make him a gritty, undervalued gem for teams seeking proven separators without diva traits.
