Preseason All-Sun Belt guard with proven run-blocking pop
Melvin Meggs entered South Alabama with a strong profile as a physical interior offensive lineman, earning preseason first-team All-Sun Belt recognition from Phil Steele and, earlier in his career, top-team grades plus 76 knockdown blocks in a season that showed real finishing power. His value is not flashy stats but reliable trench work: leverage, toughness, and the kind of consistency coaches trust on running downs. If you need a guard who can bring nastiness, stability, and scheme-flexible interior depth, Meggs looks like a smart fit.
