former Bearkats QB whose game profile is more recruiting file than current on-field producer
Gunner Capps is listed as a Sam Houston quarterback, but the available team and media coverage in 2026 points to Landyn Locke as the Bearkats’ starter, while Capps’ own roster history shows he did not see action in 2021. His profile suggests a developmental passer with size and multi-year program familiarity, but there is no current 2026 stat line to evaluate, so the real question is upside and fit, not box-score production.
