VMI’s experienced defensive back with proven playmaking roots
Deffy Mubangu brings rare long-term VMI familiarity and a defensive back profile built on toughness, positioning, and game-day versatility, with archived VMI records showing his name in the program history and a 1999 game log that included a tackle for loss and steady defensive involvement. He fits best for a team that values football IQ, physicality, and players who can handle multiple roles in the secondary rather than flashy headline stats. The key question is current form in 2026, but his background suggests a dependable, coachable safety who can help stabilize coverage and bring veteran edge.
