veteran Jackson State guard who drives the offense and chips in across the box score
Rod Melvin is a proven Jackson State guard who has long been valued for his passing, composure, and ability to make winning plays; in the 2010-11 season, he helped the Tigers with 8 assists in a game vs. Nebraska and also showed rebounding toughness for a guard, including a 9-rebound outing against Alabama A&M. He was named the 2009 SWAC Freshman of the Year, which signals early impact and basketball IQ. If you want a guard who organizes the offense, keeps teammates involved, and brings steady veteran feel, he’s the kind of fit that raises a team’s floor.
