efficient, low-usage Akron forward who gives you clean minutes
Byron Thompson is the kind of forward coaches trust when they want steady, efficient production without the drama: in the 2025-26 season, he has been listed with 3.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game while shooting 61.4% from the field. He fits as a glue-piece big/forward who finishes around the rim, rebounds his area, and rarely wastes possessions. The appeal is simple: efficient, reliable, and physically useful in a rotation—less flashy than a headline-grabber, but exactly the kind of connector that helps good teams stay organized.
